Biography for

Kay (Lewis) Simmons

 

Kay attended Ohio University from which she received her BS in Education degree, plus she has taken some graduate courses. She taught school until retiring in 2005. She has been married to her husband Bob for 40 years, and they have three sons. She met Bob in Hong Kong; he was on a submarine and she was on a seven-city tour while teaching in Japan. They live in Princeton New Jersey and West Palm Beach Florida.

 

She has been a deacon in her church; serves on the YWCA board and the Princeton Medical Center Board; is in Junior League; was president of her sons' nursery school, elementary school, and high school; and is an Executive VP of the ASME Auxiliary. She was awarded the Junior League of Greater Princeton Outstanding Sustainer Volunteer Award.

 

Kay and Bob's love for travel has taken them to Europe (Greece, Italy, France, Great Britain, Spain, Malta), Egypt, Rio de Janeiro, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Taiwan, Australia, and the Caribbean. They love cruises, especially to the Mediterranean. They also have two poodles that make life fun and bring them so much joy!

 

Kay says that looking back fondly on her life in B'ville and no matter where you go, it's the people that make life special!
