Biography for Bill Musolf Bill earned his B.S. in Mathematics from Kent State University in 1965. He then taught mathematics at Brecksville High School for five years while he worked on a graduate degree in the evenings. For the next thirty years he worked full time teaching mathematics and aviation at a community college in Cleveland and part time as a flight instructor and FAA pilot examiner. After that he spent twelve years teaching in the Aerospace Division of Kent State University. After retiring from KSU, Bill returned to his first love--farming (he was a farm kid before moving to the Brecksville area in 1959). He met his wife, Barbara, who was also a farm kid, in 1988 and together they have built a 90-acre farm in Medina County, Ohio. They raise horses, hay, hogs, and chickens. Preparations are being made for starting a beef cattle operation soon. It certainly helps that Barbara is a veterinarian. Bill enjoys working his draft horse team, riding horses, and flying antique airplanes from the grass airstrip on the farm. One of his most interesting adventures was flying an open cockpit bi-plane he had purchased in Fresno, California, back home to the farm in Ohio. Bill believes that all the teachers at Brecksville High School helped prepare him for success in college. However, after watching so many of his college classmates struggle with freshman English, he is the most grateful for the instruction he received from Helen Fitting. |
