Biography for

Julian Weglarz

2016 Update.

Since graduation, Julian has experienced a wide slice of life.  After doing a six-year stint in the United States Air Force and lengthy Southeast Asia and Viet Nam tours, he settled down in Tampa, Florida, where he became an insurance executive.  In 1976 he felt the urge to return to military life and joined the United States Navy as an Intelligence Officer. During those years he made time to attend graduate school in Alabama for holistic nutrition, an alternative medicine.  After retiring from the Navy, Julian became the senior intelligence editor for U.S. Central Command; he  retired from there in May, 2012.

As he has done throughout most of his life, Julian has found new interests. He felt an attraction to precious gems and metals and attended the Gemological Institute of America where he specialized in diamonds.  In 2006, he met a young Filipino teacher, Janet, and a year later they were married.  Julian found a new life with his wife in taking care of the homeless and supporting migrant farm worker rights in Florida.  Having completed seminary studies, he and his wife have traveled to Costa Rica Central America, and the Asian countries of the Philippines and Cambodia. Their focus has been orphans and street children, the homeless elderly poor and the rebuilding of numerous churches and chapels after the typhoons and earthquakes that devastated Asia.  Together they have learned that while mountain villagers are receptive to hydroponics and solar...it is a luxury they can't afford.  So the best they can do educate and hope in the future that the respective governments provide assistance.
